We were drawn in by the ironwork and the honest wear on the wood. No maker's mark, no paperwork. Barrels this size and shape were typically used as spirit or vinegar kegs, small enough for a bar top or a kitchen shelf rather than bulk storage. We don't know exactly what this one held or whose shelf it sat on. That's part of what we like about it.
